Johnstons of Elgin

Bee Logo Orange & Grey Stole – £375

Our Merino & Cashmere Blend Grey Stole features the Johnstons of Elgin Bee Logo in Burnt Orange – a statement piece to keep you warm this Winter.

The original Johnstons of Elgin illustration tells the story of how our Scottish family business became one of the finest textile manufacturers in the world.

The J represents the name Johnston and our core values established in 1797. In 1920 the ownership transferred from the Johnston family to Edward Harrison and it is his family who continue as custodians today.

The Thistle represents Scotland, the home of our two mills in Elgin and Hawick. We take fine natural fibres through every stage of the process to make our finished pieces. We are the only manufacturer in Scotland with this capability.

The Bee is the symbol of our craftsmen and women, who use the latest technology, alongside skills passed down through generations, to make every Johnstons of Elgin piece a timeless classic.

The illustration was created in the 1930s by Edward Harrison. Edward was an accomplished textile designer and painter who joined Johnstons of Elgin in 1904.
