Harvey Nichols – Liu Wei Lunar New Year Hennessey

To celebrate the Lunar New Year in 2021, Hennessey asked artist Liu Wei to design a limited-edition bottle and case for their much-loved X.O. Cognac.

When asked what Chinese New Year means to him, Liu Wei answered: “This is the only time when everything comes to a halt; everyone stops what they are doing to enjoy a true break. It’s a moment of freedom.” Inspired by this and in honour of the Year of the Ox, he created an artwork called ‘SPRING’ for the Hennessy Cognac box, to “express hope… for positive change and a beautiful future.” Following the year we’ve just had, we can’t think of a more fitting theme to carry forward into the next one. Featuring organic curves and a colourful palette, Liu Wei’s design is a joyous gift for Hennessy X.O. Cognac lovers and art enthusiasts alike.

Boasting notes of candied fruit, spice, cocoa and cedar, this remarkable Cognac is smooth and full-bodied with a roundness and incredible depth.
